"Medical Centre Mouse"
"Medical Centre Mouse," a comical and educational hospital TV series for the whole family, was one of Europe’s most popular TV shows in the early nineties. This series was originally produced in Dutch and later translated into English, French, German, Spanish, etc. The show was created and directed by Michel, and scripted by two of Europe’s top comedy writers, Ger Apeldoorn and Harm Edens. The puppets were made by the very same people who made the characters for “Spitting Image” and “The Muppet Christmas Carol” for the BBC in England. FOX Video has distributed this series on video / DVD and even now it is still being aired to entertain millions of viewers. “Medical Centre Mouse” has been proclaimed ‘best puppet show’ at international film festivals.

“Future Machine”
Conceived as a youth-oriented educational TV show, Michel created and directed “Future Machine” during the nineties. In this show, two of Europe’s TV hosts helped youths choose the right subjects to study in order to obtain the required qualifications for their future dream jobs. The show, unique for its time, was subsidized by the federal government. In each episode, four selected teenagers typed their wishes for the future into a computer (the Future Machine). Once the computer was activated they could see a documentary-style portrait of their eventual position in life and the studies that preceded it. Participants also had a chance to fulfill their dream by filling that position for one day. For example, a fourteen year old boy who had a dream to become a police officer had the opportunity, through the show, to actually be a police officer for a day, accompanied by the show’s hosts.
A comical character portraying a professor added much amusement to the show and made it more interesting for the whole family.

“Time Management”
Directed by Michel, “Time Management” was a successful educational TV series that helped participants manage their busy schedules. Being unorganized can be extremely costly to your personal well-being; it can destroy marriages and other relationships, cause sickness, bankruptcies and untold stress. Participants learned to share their time with family and friends and still do their jobs efficiently at the same time. A successful book based on the show’s lessons also followed the series. |
